The Speech Improvement Company, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the KageGuide mobile application (the “App”). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines our data practices when you use KageGuide.
1. Information Collection and Use
KageGuide only collects and processes specific information when you use certain features:
•Motivate Me: When you use the “Motivate Me” feature, KageGuide sends the text you enter to an external language model (provided by OpenAI) to generate motivational responses.
•Assignment Plan Creation: When you use the “Assignment Plan Creation” feature, details you enter about assignments are sent to the language model to create a customized plan.
•Syllabus Summary: When you upload or enter syllabus information to summarize key points, the data is sent to the language model to generate summaries.
These interactions are solely for providing personalized responses and are not stored by us. However, the data may be processed temporarily by OpenAI’s language model to deliver accurate responses.
2. Data Processing by Third Parties
We use OpenAI’s ChatGPT model to process the information described above. While we do not store this data, OpenAI may temporarily process it in accordance with their privacy practices. We encourage you to review OpenAI’s Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data.
3. Device Permissions
KageGuide may request optional access to your device’s Calendar, Reminders, and CarPlay. This access is solely for syncing purposes, so that you can integrate your assignments with your device’s native tools. No information from these features is collected or transmitted.
4. Security of Your Data
While we take reasonable steps to protect the data temporarily processed by our third-party provider, we cannot guarantee absolute security during transmission. Data is processed only to deliver app features, and we do not retain or store this information on our servers.
5. Children’s Privacy
KageGuide is not intended for children under the age of 13. While we do not store any personal data, the app does send information to a third-party provider, as described above. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child’s use of the app, please contact us.
