The pattern we see

Brilliant science, buried story.

Same science. Two very different meetings.

A nervous, under-prepared presenter loses a distracted, bored boardroom
A confident, well-prepared presenter holds an engaged, attentive boardroom

Investors and partners watch teams all day, and even the scientists among them do not live in your data. They need to see your science the way you see it.

Too deep in the science

Deep in mechanism and data before the audience understands why it matters.

The meeting gets derailed

Questions, objections, or side issues pull the room away from the decision you came to make.

The ask gets lost

The business opportunity, next step, or decision is hard to find inside the science.

Scientific to non-scientific

Investors, partners, and board members may be scientifically fluent, but they do not live in your platform every day.

The team is not aligned

Strong individuals, but different versions of the story, uneven handoffs, or inconsistent answers.

Clear science, confident delivery

The message is there, but delivery, articulation, pace, or nerves make it harder to trust and follow.

Our recommended format

Start with the communication moment in front of you.

Some clients begin with one CEO, CSO, founder, or scientific leader. Others bring the full team into a focused workshop. We start by listening, then recommend the right format for the presentation, meeting, or decision you are preparing for.

For teams, we often build around our two-day workshop and your actual presentation. Two days does not have to mean two days in a row. We can work in person or remote, back to back or split into shorter sessions, for one leader or the whole team.

You do not need to know whether you need individual coaching or a team workshop before reaching out.

Day 1: Fundamentals, together

Day 2: Applied to your real presentation

Do not wait until the last minute. Confidence and skill come with practice and repetition. Build the fundamentals now, and when it is game time, a short practice session is all it takes to walk in ready.

An academic approach, not theatrics.

We take an academic approach to the training and coaching we do. We do not use theatre tricks or gimmicks, because investors and partners can feel when a presentation is performative. Scientific leaders can feel it too when they are choosing a vendor.

We profile current strengths and areas of need, then our coaches adapt to each participant. Most of our coaching team has studied at the graduate level or beyond in speech, communication, psychology, or a related field. That lets us focus on real training and skill building, not surface-level performance.

Since 1964, our coaches have met regularly for professional development, where we review current research, debate what works, and bring that knowledge back to our clients. We have found that leaders with academic and scientific backgrounds appreciate this approach.

Our coach forced us to get out of the microcosm we live in every day, and look at what the listeners really want and need.
