“It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”

Yogi Berra

People who love baseball certainly will remember its originator, Yogi Berra as one of the game’s most memorable players and coach. Many other people know him only for his absurd, but sometimes insightful quotes which spawned their own name: “yogiisms” — defined as seemingly nonsensical or self-contradictory statements that actually convey serious thoughts once listeners untangle the knots of their unusual phrasing.

Reading in the papers about mostly wrong predictions from 2018 and new ones being made for 2019 reminds me of that famous quote.

So, after a little research we’d like to share the following:

“Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.”

“If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.”

“You can observe a lot just by watching.”

“It ain’t over ’til it’s over.”

“When you come to a fork in the road, take it”

“The future ain’t what it used to be.”

“Cut my pie into four pieces, I don’t think I could eat eight.”

“Nobody comes here anymore, it’s too crowded”

“Half the lies they tell about me aren’t true.”

“90% of the game is half mental.”

“I wish I had an answer to that because I’m tired of answering that question.”

“I never said most of the things I said.”

“If the world were perfect, it wouldn’t be.”

“Deja Vu All Over Again”

“Okay you guys, pair up in threes!”

“I’d give my right arm to be ambidextrous.”

“We made too many wrong mistakes.”

“It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”

“We’re lost, but we’re making good time.”

“You wouldn’t have won if we’d beaten you.”

“A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.”

“It’s getting late early”

“You have to give 100 percent in the first half of the game. If that isn’t enough, in the second half, you have to give what’s left.”

“I’m not going to buy my kids an encyclopedia. Let them walk to school like I did.”

“If you ask me anything I don’t know, I’m not going to answer.”

“No matter where you go, there you are,”

“It ain’t the heat, it’s the humility.”

“He must have made that before he died.”

“Little League baseball is a very good thing because it keeps the parents off the streets.”

“Even Napoleon had his Watergate.”
